Once we show our thinking dogs their territory & job detail...they are "on"...able to discern, decide, determine etc...they will keep outsiders out/off of their designated space. Greatly exhibited in this footage... I find myself explaining LGD dog's temperaments to those not in-the-know on an almost daily basis. LGDs are, in every situation...potentially lethal. They require only being shown their territory once. Even when we graze bio-sustainably in a pasture-rotation scenario (& change the range daily)...or on the obviously leased USFS land shown below (I'm guessing). Intelligent LGDs have been bred for thousands of years to "get it"...& they do. They discern. Unfortunately, they also pay a heavy price for thinking. It's no secret, my feelings on society's abhorrent hack of the dog-brain. As we continue to lose our affinity & connectedness with nature & the habituation of beasts...and the rules/roles of beasts...(those of territory, respect, space & consciousness). Whats left? What are your thoughts? Hopefully, the LGDs below were recognised as merely doing their jobs...they could have, at any time...had mountain biker balls for breakfast...they didn't. Interestingly they waited until biker 1 was well into the flock, they moved him off...and held him... Good dogs. Comments are closed.
