 I've always enjoyed having Evangers canned dog food in my pantry...that's why I was one of the thousands of people who bought "Hunk of Beef" &/or "Against The Grain"...from them. Essentially, one could open the can & precisely what they advertise (in my case, a hunk of beef) would be sitting in a sumptuous broth...my dogs were agog! They LOVED it. The problem was: some of it was pentobarbitol-tainted horse meat.
This can certainly be lethal to dogs. And it was. Thus, a class-action lawsuit occurred of which I was a part (& I received compensation for the cases of Hunk Of Beef that I'd purchased on 8/22/2020). Evangers has, in turn, filed a lawsuit against their meat supplier (for, among other things, fraud)...click here to review. It's important! As we absolutely DO NOT want our dogs consuming tainted (i.e. euthanol) horse meat fraudulently sold as "beef". Check out the pet food industry's take on this whole thing... Be savvy & safe! I now purchase Petkind Venison Tripe from NZ...AND...I still adore Evangers as well...I now limit my acquisitions to their Whole Chicken Thigh in a can...I won't be purchasing Hunk Of Beef from them again...though it is likely the safest product out there right now.
