There's nothing worse than fleas (except for the chemicals commonly used to "treat" for fleas). Fleas are an appalling little beast...& they carry tapeworms, which are just another revulsion... It takes quite an effort to evict fleas naturally...but, in my estimation, this option is the ONLY option...as chemicals go against everything I believe in if there is the slightest option at not using em. Let's say someone came over & brought fleas with them...yes...it can & does happen. People are quite filthy...
As soon as humanly possible, sequester your location...1) launder all bedding & clothing (using Zum & Borax)...your stuff & the dog's. 2) bathe your dog with a natural flea shampoo... & 3) deftly apply Borax to your floors & carpets...then 4) leave with your 4-legged for at least 3 hours...5) vacuum up with a Shop-Vac. If you don't have anything on-hand for flea shampoo use Dawn Original dish detergent or Head & Shoulders Dandruff shampoo.... The best way to shampoo your dog is to THOROUGHLY saturate her with warm water. Saturating a Golden Retriever adult to the skin takes 30 minutes. So, be certain your dog is wholly saturated from nose to tip-of-tail. Then, in a large container, add shampoo...then add enough warm water to make a giant vat of lather. Yay, you've started the saponification process...using a pouf, saturate pouf in billowing lather and rub this all over the dog....this method effectively lathers every area of the beast while removing one step...lathering. So...good. Pouf the pooch. Rinse thoroughly. Very, very thoroughly & repeat the shampoo, always avoiding eyes. I do the head last...but, I make certain to create a lather-barrier between head & body immediately. A Golden Retriever requires at least 5 bath sheet/towels... Towel dry & then take towels to laundry machine immediately. Dry dog outside. I recommend a Double K dog dryer...their hose is more user-friendly than K9 III, for instance. I suggest a 2nd natural flea shampooing on the following day just to wipe out any stragglers. And a thorough out-of-doors blow-dry. This baby will blast fleas & eggs off of the dog. Just envision herbally poisoned fleas still hanging on by a thread....they won't make it past the power-blow. Now worm your dog. Then treat your yard with Cedarcide & a hose-attachment ( I use a commercial-grade hose attachment with stainless steel hardware). I treat the perimeter of high-volume areas with Borax. Maintain an astute watch... I love the ozone machine...they should be used when NO ONE is in home. Including birds... & the room should be well-aired after ozonation. Avoid having essential oils in the air when using this grand machine...& voila. You're G2G. Comments are closed.
