Do you still breed Lhasas? Yes. When my 16-year old Lhasa-boy/sidekick/true love passed away in March of 2017, I elected to take a long sabbatical...I plan on having a litter of genetically healthy NeoGen tested Lhasas in winter of 2024. Please enjoy the slideshow of my Lhasas. *All photos are of Julia Jensen's dogs  & are the property of Julia Jensen. Most were taken by Julia Jensen unless otherwise indicated in the caption (& the show pics)*

Where did the name "Green Stains" come from? From the green stains that adorn my knees & elbows (as I am a farmer).  *All photos were taken by Julia Jensen of Julia's personal animals & are therefore the sole property of Julia Jensen.

Do you administer your own vaccines? Yes! My first responsibility is to the health of my dogs. To that end, I administer a very specific vaccination protocol utilising the SUPERB products manufactured by Neo Tech. Firstly, I administer a vaccination against Parvo (Neo Par). Then, prudently I administer vaccinations against one or two diseases at a time. Slamming the system with multiple diseases in a single dose is quite a vicious howdy-doo. The most thoughtful overture for the young & fragile system is my velvet hammer.

Why do you worm your puppies so often?  Puppies, if they have been outside, have worms. Roundworms. They get them from the soil- where the pups have been having a rollicking good time of it. So, I worm with human-labeled (because humans get roundworms too) pyrantel pamoate from 2 weeks of age onwards & continue every 2-3 weeks until they fledge the nest. I also utilise Fenbendazole at approximately 6 weeks of age & again in the 9 weeks-range. I recommend bi-weekly/monthly worming until the pup reaches 6 months of age & has finished teething, at which time monthly/bi-monthly worming will suffice until the first year is completed. Also, if you have had so much as one flea appear on your pup, you'll be needing to worm with Praziquantel for Tapeworms...as fleas, rodents & other dogs can infect your little beast....these egg cases you WILL see (they look like rice grains) on the anal region of the dog & atop the dog manure. A fecal sample taken to your veterinarian is a great way of determining the ideal anthelminic program for your dog...I recommend taking fecal samples from several different bowel movements in at the same time (from the same dog). Pea-sized samples...(in a ziploc bag).

And on the subject of worms. We don't see any worms in our puppy's manure...so...he does not have them. Believe me, you will not be able to see microscopic ova in your pup's poop...rarely will you see a mature worm who completed an entire life-cycle in a dog...if you do...you've got problems. If your pup has everrrr set foot outside, he'll have worms. And some (as in...a few) worms are not detrimental...but, a major load is a major problem. Err on the side of prudent management. Here's a slideshow...avoiding this detrimental grotesquerie is so much more intelligent an option.

I'm concerned that raw eggs & meat will poison my puppy. Why do you feed your dogs a raw diet? The dog had a system accustomed to real foods (until the advent of convenient kibble & biscuits in the mid 1800s...& canned dog food in the 1920s). With the convenience of ready-made food/s, came the population explosion...& the subsequent degradation of health, breeding & form-to-function due to grains & flour as an additive & the decompositional aspect of the canned & cooked foods themselves. Eventually these health conditions became genetically fixed. A trait. Do your dietetic homework & feed per the ethnic origin of your dog. My dogs always eat very, very well. Whole, raw food supplemented with the brands I have detailed within my website.

Dogs are not a ruminant, they don't have multiple stomachs/chambers required to process the highly fermentative grains found in over-the-counter kibble.

Do you air ship? No, I don't. Puppy parents get to collect their puppies in person!

Do you health screen? I do! I utilise Cornell University's Embark....& recommend them wholly.
